Left Skewed Distribution

Left skewed distributions present with a large number of observations falling to the left of its mean. Graphically it’s easy to identify by drawing a vertical line at the mean and looking to see if the bulk of the distribution falls to the left of that line. Mathematically we can also say a distribution is skewed to the left if its mean is less than its median, which is less than its mode:

Mean < Median < Mode
